“White as Snow” is an adaptation from Sabahattin Ali’s story “Ayran”. The story is telling “a single day” of a child whose name is Hasan.

Hasan is a 12 years old kid, who lives in a mountain village. His father is in prison and his mother is working as a caretaker in the town. Hasan has to take care of his two siblings by himself. Therefore, he sells a yogurt based drink “ayran” by the roadside. One cold winter day, early in the morning, he brings his churn and goes to tea house by the roadside…

“White as Snow”s narrative is built on the life of Hasan and his struggles when he tries to sell his “ayran”. The story line also includes confrontations of the people around him about their life and themselves.

Director Selim Gunes, tells the story by a single day of a child. That single day is a harmony of longings, expectations and regrets. Film’s story is also highlighting “hope” that is still there against all the odds and each negative experience…
